Aukelien Weverling

Aukelien Weverling (b. 1977) is a writer, journalist and columnist. In 2002 she made her debut with Liever gekust (nominated for the Marten Toonder/Geertjan Lubberhuizen Prize). Apart from her novels she publishes short stories in various newspapers and magazines and writes humorous columns and features. In 2002 she wrote the scenario for Talmen together with Stijn van Santen, and it won the Golden Calf for Best Short Film. For the VPRO, Weverling worked together with Britta Hosman on the satirical script for Sixty and the City, an episode of VPRO's De Toekomst, which deals with the theme of the shifting age limit. Her second novel, Politiek gevangene, was published in 2006.
