Abdelkader Benali

Abdelkader Benali (Morocco, 1975) moved to the Netherlands with his parents at the age of four. When he was only twenty-one he published his first novel, Bruiloft aan zee (1996), for which he received the Geertjan Lubberhuizen Prize. It was not until 2002 that he published his second book, De langverwachte, which was highly successful and received the 2003 Libris Literature Prize. His latest novel to date, Feldman en ik, was published in November 2006. In 2007 he published Marathonloper; this is Benali‚Äôs (literary) fantasy of his own experiences with, and his deep interest in, running.
