Anne Vegter

Anne Vegter (1960) is a poet, prose writer and author of children's books. She has lived in Rotterdam since 1992, where, apart from writing, she is very busy raising her three sons. Her first anthology of poems, Het veerde, was published in 1991. Her poems have been published in De Revisor, Maatstaf and Tirade and her prose in Lust & Gratie and Optima. In 1993 she worked as a teacher at the 't Colofon Writer's School in Amsterdam; in 1995 and 1996 she had a weekly Saturday column in theVolkskrant newspaper. At that time she could also be heard every week in the literary VPRO radio programme, De Avonden. Her collection of short stories, Spamfighter, was nominated for the VSB Poetry Prize at the beginning of 2008.
